Writer, Janie May, was born in Michigan to a Scottish mother, who was born and raised in Edinburgh, and a father with strong German lineage. After attending college in Michigan, Janie moved to Texas for three years and then onto Anchorage, Alaska. After working for as a Legal Investigator for a law firm for 30 years, she retired at age 53. She had planned to write a cookbook and her job was clearly getting in the way. In November of 2016, she moved permanently to her vacation home in Arizona. Over the next two years, she began refining her recipes by preparing meals and photographing the meals for her first endeavor as a Cookbook Author. Janie then fell in love with a gentleman from Holland (Frank) and the two were married in November of 2017. Janie and Frank have one AKC yellow Lab named Magnum.
